In the few weeks since we talked here about 20×200, Juliane Eirich’s Fishline photo arrived, went to the framers and now resides above our stove.
The framer took one look at it and said, “What did they do to deserve that?”
Eirich’s artist statement explains:
“This photo is part of my series, Korea Diary.
Due to a scholarship, I spent eighteen months of 2007 and 2008 in Seoul, South Korea. I took one photo every day for my picture diary. Fishline was taken May 31st, 2008, in Seonyudo, a small island located twenty-six miles off the west coast of the country. Fish is dried like this everywhere in the countryside of Korea.”
